Tutor's Experience
I am a local full-time tutor with 9 years of tutoring experience, specializing in Secondary and Junior College Mathematics. As a NUS Chemical Engineering graduate, I am very well-versed in the areas of Mathematics and the Sciences and can value-add to the students by demonstrating applications of certain concepts in real life.
Under my tutelage, my students have seen a two grade improvement on average in their next test. Weaker students, especially, demonstrated greater confidence and new-found appreciation for Mathematics.
My three-step teaching pedagogy involves first summarizing the concepts in each topic, application of these concepts into practice questions, and finally assessing the students on their understanding by a 'viva voce' discussion of how the student would tackle any given problem.
Through my years of teaching, apart from academic excellence, I also try to impart life-long skills to my students. Traits such as critical thinking and emotional resilience are important and will also go a long way into shaping a student's perspective of his/her life.
