I am a RI Y6 student, and I take H2 KI, Lit, History, Math in jc. I am intending to major in Philosophy and Literature in university. Previously, I took triple science in Cedar Girls' Secondary School, represented my school in various science olympiads (SJPO Silver, SJChO Gold experiment round national second, SMO Silver etc) and obtained A1 in 10/10 subjects before switching to art stream.
My area of specialisation includes Ethics and Epistemology. I am also interested in metaphysics, philosophy of mind and religion.
Connected to the academic circle in Singapore, I am well-informed about opportunities such as essay competitions, conferences, talks, and other activities which could expose you to the academic scene and help you further your interest in philosophy.
I can also advise you on philosophy and social science research projects.
I am one of the two candidates representing Singapore in the 27th international Philosophy Olympiad (http://ipo2019.sfi.it).
I presented my paper: a challenge to consequentialism as a normative ethics theory, in Raffles Philosophy Symposium as a member of Raffles Reflect Enrichment Program, a school-based philosophy enrichment program.
I participated in the inaugural Hwa Chong Invitational Philosophy Olympiad (https://hcipo.wordpress.com) and was awarded (1) Best Speaker in Seminar Discussion for Topic 2: What is Truth and (2) Best Response for Topic 1: Ethics and Justice in History: Remembering, Forgetting, Forgiving.
I have attended various philosophy conferences, such as Singapore Undergraduate Philosophy Conference (SUPC) in 2018 and 2019 and Ethics and Human Evolution Conference (http://www.soh.ntu.edu.sg/Programmes/philosophy/EHE/Pages/Home.aspx).
