More Information About This Class

Be it taking Pure Chemistry or Combined Science with Chemistry at the O-levels, here are the benefits for students taking our Chemistry programme for O-level.

1. Familiar with the format of the Chemistry papers

Students will be taught to be familiar with the format and syllabus as it is essential as it will help to make their revision sessions much more efficient and productive.

2. Students can have a strong grasp of the topics tested

As the content covered for science is rather heavy and spread over a course of two years to study, students will be taught to have a good grasp of the topics and sub-topics that they need to cover. Having a good grasp of the topics tested is essential as the nature of the subject may bring about questions that test on multiple topics in a single question. Thus, it is important to have a good grasp of the topics in order to do well for chemistry at the O-levels. Examples,

Boiling point is related to the attractive force between molecules. The weaker the attractive force between the molecules, the lesser the heat energy is needed to overcome the attractive force, and so the lower the boiling point is.

Atomic mass and temperature affects the rate of diffusion of gas. The lower the atomic mass, the smaller is the strength of the attractive force between the particles, and the smaller is the inertia of the particles and the faster they move. The higher the temperature, the higher the average kinetic energy of the particles and the faster they move.

In addition, our O-Levels Chemistry students will be taught to make concise and precise Chem notes such that serves as a checkpoint to revisit the concepts taught. Putting the content learned into notes of their own format will be helpful for them to review everything much more easily and efficiently.
