More Information About This Class
At MLGs, the focus is more on average students who are struggling in Math so the lessons will be catered to their learning pace. Students who are consistently doing very well are discouraged from attending the lessons. Each teaching lesson lasts for 2 hours with the first part of the lesson spent on revising key mathematical concepts. The second part of the lesson is spent on teaching methods and heuristics of solving common and difficult Math problems. Topical Reviews and Exam Revision Papers will be given to check students' understanding and progress. Homework will be given when examinations are approaching. Regular feedback on the students' performance will be given to the parents as and when necessary.
Mr Lawrence Ong is a NIE-Trained Ex Primary School teacher with many years of classroom teaching experience in Math. He is passionate about helping children in their Math, especially those who are from lower-income families. Mr Ong is also very experienced in conducting small group lessons after having taught at Mind Stretcher Education Group for more than 5 years. Over the years, he has helped many students including his private ones, improve their results and even attain A’s and A*s for their PSLE Math. His teaching philosophy is every child deserves a fair and equal learning opportunity and should never be deprived of learning due to his/her low-income family background. Thus Math Learning Groups (MLGs) was set up to provide very affordable tutoring lessons for all students especially those who are under-privileged.
