More Information About This Class

Principles of Accounts (GCE “N” Level 7088 and GCE “O” Level 7175) is a fundamental subject offer to upper secondary students. Students who aspire to be entrepreneurs or embark on a career in the accounting or banking and finance industries will find the subject to be highly practical and relevant.

Students benefit from simulated and real life opportunities to analyse the financial health of businesses. Students who further their studies at tertiary level have the opportunities to work for accounting firms, banks and multi-national corporations. With an accounting qualification, students will have a good chance of working for an established company with structured training programme and clear career progression.

The aim of my class is for students to appreciate accounting concepts through real life applications and case studies. Lecture materials are crafted specifically to bridge the gap between contextual knowledge and real life scenarios. Students who develop genuine interest and see the value of studying this subject will expect their results to soar beyond expectations and minimise the dependency on rote learning.

In the first lesson, I will conduct a detailed explanation on the syllabus and examination guidelines with strict adherence to Ministry of Education (MOE) and Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) regulations. Going forward, we will conduct goal setting activities. Besides setting our individual academic goals, the group will be asked to set their “Group Goal”. The purpose is to inculcate team spirit within the group, making sure everyone starts on the same page and ends on the right note.
