ACE GCE 'O' LEVEL ENGLISH
The Ultimate Course for Attaining Success in the GCE 'O' Level English Language Examination

Duration: 2 hours per class.

For Upper Secondary students who are challenged by the increasingly complex requirements of the GCE 'O'Level English Language examination, this is the complete course to equip you with the essentials to excel in this demanding subject. This course will help students master the foundational skills required, to get a firm grasp of the basics, ie, grammar, spelling, punctuation and pronunciation. Students will also learn the techniques required to tackle the key areas of writing (situational/continuous), editing, comprehension and oral communication.

Singapore's MOE in its foreword on the English Language (EL) syllabus for secondary schools, advocate a systematic approach to learning the English language; with an emphasis on attaining the foundational skills required to excel in the English language.

In this class, students will get to practise their English basics extensively. Additionally, I hope to use specific techniques, including audio exercises, role play and debate to further help students master the intricacies of the English language. The exercises will be fun, and will keep students energised and motivated.

Throughout this class, we will explore different strategies and techniques to effectively tackle the key areas of the GCE 'O' Level English Language format:-

* Editing
* Comprehension
* Listening
* Oral Communication

Students will be taught how to organize their ideas, and structure their sentences, to write clearly, concisely and logically. We will go through systematically, the different approaches to evaluate passages, visual texts, factual texts and figurative language, so that the students will develop expertise and confidence to tackle any of these.

My focus is to hone the students' writing styles, so that they will write more creatively. Additionally, the opportunity to debate/spar with their team mates in the group, would help the students to develop critical thinking skills, be more articulate, and also learn teamwork.
