More Information About This Class
Duration of each session: 2 h
In each session, one topic from the respective subject class would be chosen to be taught in detail. We would zoom straight into the fundamentals and basics of that chosen topic, practice questions would be given to the students to do on the spot and go through together. Any doubts from that topic could be raised and to be cleared after the end of the lesson.
Aim of the lesson: One topic down at the end of the lesson.
Tutor's Experience
I graduated from National University of Singapore (NUS) with Honours degree in Chemistry, and am currently working as a full-time Chemist. I have 7 years of experience teaching students from various schools: AJC, CJC, IJC, JJC, PJC, MI, NJC, SAJC and SRJC. Most of them obtained either A or B grades for their A level results. Those who started off with S/U grades were able to have a vast jump to a minimum of C grade.
Despite that I am a part-time tutor, I have taught many students over the past 7 years. In Y2016, I taught a total of 12 students concurrently. My tuition classes do not restrict to only one-to-one private tuition; I also do group tuition as well.
I adopt the method of going back to basics first, because I always believe that it is more beneficial to understand the concept rather than to memorize the method. Because when one has a strong foundation, he or she would be able to relate to the questions (not limited to only that one particular question) better and hence formulate solutions more effectively.
I occasionally would share with my students my past experience, so they could too, learn from my past mistakes/exam strategies. Also, as different students have different learning curves, I would usually set the pace according to each individual. Lastly, I aim to cultivate independent learning and self-discipline in my students.

Ms Stelle is also patient when it comes to explaining concepts that I have difficulty grasping. She would also explain it in other ways if needed to ensure that I would fully understand the concept. In addition, Ms Stelle cares for her student’s well-being. She knows how much workload to give me to prevent myself from being overloaded with assignments from both school and tuition. Thus, I highly recommend you to take her as your tutor.
Ms Stelle taught me about for 6 months. She easily grasp my misconception and is patient in explaining simple concept, linking them to various chapters. With the limited time, she strategies me to study efficiently for my mid year and prelim. Even till prelim, I was struggling with Chemistry. She was encouraging and gave me plenty of time to review concept that she had taught me before. Other than doing TYS at the last leap, she came to lesson with readily picked questions from other JCs, increasing my exposure to different types of questions. With her help, I was able to improve a few grades in my A level. I could never did it without her help. Thus, I would strongly recommend her.
Ms Stelle taught me 2 years ago for A levels H2 Chemistry. She was an excellent tutor and was very patient and helpful in clearing my doubts.
In School, it was quite difficult for me to keep up with the pace of the class and it often resulted in me being completely lost about certain concepts and these doubts would just snowball. With Ms Stelle's help, I was able understand the concepts better and was more confident in approaching complex questions on my own. She also tried various methods of explanations if I was unclear with the ones in my lecture notes and also brought in props (E.g. the ball-and-stick model for organic chemistry) to help me in visualisation. These were the kind of things that helped me during exams as I would often remember them to guide me.The subject itself is very content heavy so remembering things in an easier way helped to lessen the workload.
Also, she had her own set of questions which were very helpful as she picked out the ones which targeted common concepts that would typically be tested in exams. She was also very responsive over whatsapp, especially nearing my exams.
Overall, she is a really good tutor.
Teacher Stelle is patient and encouraging. I've always been scared of asking questions so I'd naturally keep my doubts to myself. However, teacher Stelle always makes it a habit to ask if I understand and will only proceed when I'm able to explain to her the concept that she has just taught. She's also really understanding and won't give up on you. I got a U grade even up till prelims and she was the one who told me not to give up and in the end I managed to obtain a C for Alevels. Thank you teacher Stelle for always having faith in me and putting in so much effort into every class!
Ms Stelle is an excellent teacher as she is able to explain concepts well. I have a much deeper understanding of chemistry topics after her tuition lessons, and every lesson is valuable to me as she maximises time & ensures that topics are well-taught and that I have fully understood the topic. Ms Steele is definitely an excellent teacher and she really put in a lot of effort to make me understand a chemistry topic. One thing about Ms Steele would be that she is able to explain tough concepts in simple terms and it really made my studying a lot more easier, especially for the Organic Chemistry topic. As Organic Chemistry forms a huge bulk of the H2 Chemistry syllabus, it would be easier to study if you were able to appreciate the concept behind every reaction and not just memorising the different reactions for the sake of exams. Hence, Ms Steele made me appreciate Chemistry more and I am really grateful for her help throughout my JC2 journey.

Ms Stelle Tan is an excellent tutor capable of understanding students’ strengths and weaknesses, and helping them to improve. She is very precise when it comes to teaching and is very good at explaining concepts to her students and how or when to apply them. She also remains very contactable even outside tuition hours to help you answer certain questions that you might need help with at that point in time. With her help, I was able to jump from a borderline E grade to an A for “A” Levels! I would highly recommend her as your tutor because of her determination to ensure that students fully understand the various topics and her clear and precise teachings.
Ms Stelle is a really good teacher. She puts in a lot of effort on her end as she comes prepared for lessons and makes many sacrifices for her students in fixing timings. During lessons, instead of just merely making us do questions, she teaches us to understand concepts first. Adding on, her explainations are very clear and in depth so it really enlightens her students. Other than just TYS questions, she provides her own questions for us to practice as well!
