More Information About This Class
As every student is different,I will cater to individual child's needs work on individual weaknesses. Keeping the class size small not only helps student to focus, but also enable co-dependent learning (buddy system learning).Word cards, word bank, creative writing chart, expressive reading and other hands-on materials will be used during lessons depending on area of learning. Each session should be no less than 2 hours as the first 30 - 45 minutes would focus mainly on school assignment including spelling (if any). Then, focusing on what the needs of students are, there will be a whiteboard teaching for discussion and interaction between student and tutor. I believe it is important for students to be able to communicate effectively to find answers to their questions. Hence, there will be Q&A involved during each lesson.
Parents are advice to leave assessment books / mock exam papers purchase to me in order to match books to student's ability. Tuition homework will be given to every student. Not every student will have the same homework because not every child in the group is weak in the same area of focus. At times, I will collate past questions/spelling words to "test" student on random weeks to refresh their memories and ensure they know what they have been taught.
Parents are encouraged to be interactive with me, asking questions on your child's progress as frequently as possible.
Stationery will be provided during lessons.
Parents will be asked before Assessment books and mock exam paper are purchased. Receipt will be provided after purchase for reimbursement.

I am a very experienced tutor who specializes in the English Language from preschool years all the way to adult.
I feel extremely passionate when it comes to education and tutoring has never just been a job for me to earn extra income.
With my background as a former preschool & student care principal, I am versatile when it comes to working with students from different backgrounds and needs. My way of teaching is not generic. I do not believe in blind teaching and purely doing assessment books. I believe in building confidence in student by communication, and interactive learning.
