More Information About This Class
Paper 1 - Composition
Students will learn to build interesting content to score higher marks. Using a proprietary technique called vocabulary replacement, we hope to expand the students active & passive vocabulary. Students will also learn essential linguistic techniques that will help to build up the right atmosphere in their writing.
Paper 2 - Comprehension
Students will learn about the different question types and the essential techniques required to answer the comprehension questions. There will also be lessons that help to build up students' grammar foundation and expose students to commonly tested vocabulary.
Students will be taught the time tested techniques to approach a problem sum. This meant that every student will be able to score at least 1 mark even if they didn't know how to solve the problem at all! This helps students to minimise any loss of marks! The lessons will also help to revise critical mathematical concepts that are often tested at PSLE.
Revision of all science topics, going through commonly tested experiments and questions. Students will be taught how to eliminate options in the MCQ portion so as increase their chances of getting the right answer. We will also revise answering techniques for open-ended questions that will be essential for getting the A*.
Apart from the lessons, students will be given access to an e-learning portal. They will be assigned assignments and monthly quizzes to practise.
I started by doing relief teaching at various schools. Most of the school engagements required my attendance on a daily basis for several months per engagement. Apart from that, I have been providing private tutoring since 2008.
In 2015, I started a tuition centre that is registered with MOE. The centre is still currently operational and we have several full-time tutors working there. Although the centre hopes to provide affordable fees for parents, it cannot go too low as we need to pay our tutors who are university graduates a decent living wage while keeping the class small.
Therefore, I have decided to open another class that provides even cheaper fees and value for money e-learning assignments. The downside? The class size will be similar to other mass-market tuition centres - up to 14 students.
